Are There Any Others Besides Me Who Regret Not Going To Senior Prom?

my younger cousin who will graduate HS soon is going to senior prom (congrats to him) and while i am happy for him, i cant help but also feel some regret for not having gone to prom myself. i was wearing a cast at the time…no joke. but honestly people, do you think of people like me as, to put it lightly, losers?

I didn’t go to my senior prom. It was right after our senior class trip to Disney World. I paid for the trip myself and even though I didn’t have a date for the prom, the school did not allow people to buy single tickets. I would have had to have paid for a couple ticket for just me which was $300. Plus the dress, pictures and all that other good stuff would have just been a waste. My junior prom sucked and I wasn’t about to repeat it with my senior prom so I decided not to go.
Sometimes I feel bad that I didn’t go but since then I’ve been to my college senior ball, charity galas, and formal work affairs. It’s all the same highly anticipated let downs so I try not to dwell on the fact that I didn’t go through all of the rigamarole when I was 18. I didn’t even go to my 10 year high school reunion because I knew it would suck and from what I heard from the 30 people out of 600 who actually showed up, it did suck.
