Christians…is It A Sin To Tell Or Tolerate Religious Jokes?

is it mentioned in the bible that you are not allowed to tolerate/laugh at… religious jokes, take for example “family guy” many religious men made a big deal out of the portrayal of God and Jesus,doing weird…actions,so i wonder if the mockery of the religion is a sin that mentioned in the bible.
ps: i wrote christians instead of theists…because christians are the majority in here,feel free to express your thoughts and opinions

I would say it depends on the joke. I don’t watch family guy but I know some programs like South Park just flat out make fun of Jesus. To me this is wrong. I will not watch shows that do this. However I have been known to tell religious jokes but ones I don’t find to be offensive. Also I would never tell a joke that degrades or insults Jesus.
I tell religious jokes all the time and I am a christian. I am not religious. I hate religion. I think CS Lewis is right when the greatest sin is that of pride. It is amazing to think that the creator of everything whom our lives depend upon should humble himself and become man. The irony is is that man is so arrogant and tend to think they can live their lives independant of God when he is the one that holds our very lives in his hands.

Most Eastern religions can take a joke.
I grew up Catholic…one christmas, the priest read a Christmas card that showed Joseph and Mary in the Manger, and Joseph says “Jesus Christ, what are we going to name this kid?”. I thought it was funny, and so did most of the young people there did.
I think it is personal for each person…I always tell my overly religious grandmother the WORST, most hell banishing catholic jokes, because it is funny…I’m sure if I cross the line she’ll smack me!
I don’t think God mind respectful jokes. He’s got broad shoulders. I don’t think it falls under the category of God will not be mocked. If God just sat on a throne and was stoic all the time Heaven would be a pretty boring place.
Intoleration is the mask of immaturity. But some things are just intolerable, and that’s the level of an unspiritualized soul…an indicator of where they are at.
Uhh – I don’t think so. I enjoy religious jokes, especially the ones made about my own denomination.

nope im catholic and i laugh at them, religion is a guide not a way of life. when you live off the bible is when terrorism and violence heppens
