Hmmm…. maybe. In the long run, they will care about issues such as medical benefits and economy. My grandparents think that the Republican’s attitudes toward older persons is the JOKE.

My parents, who are not all that old, in their forties, decided long ago to not support Obama because of his heavy ties to islamic terrorists and the money he receives from them for his campaign. They have seen the devasting emotional and physical effects the terrorism of islam the religion of “peace” first hand. One of my grandmothers was so severely affected by islamic terrorism that she and her husband and two other people chose to escape the prison islam creates for humans and came to America to BE free.
That anyone in Obamas camp can only make insensitive jokes about old age.. proves they cannot see past their tomorrow far enough to understand, perhaps, if islam does not dissolve this country by violence as it is so many others, that one day they will be older and wiser. Perhaps his excessive taxation desire for them and for all of us will have ruined this countrys economy so badly as the Saudis drain their pockets enough they have not enough to buy food, and no one else will either…unless they move to Africaa where Obama wants that huge tax to go instead of to Louisiana to rebuild, or to Georgia or to many other states in our own country.
Ah well, Obama claims to be christian as Wright taught him ( via Fard and Cone ) so perhaps Obama was correct when in a speech he said all blacks are like his. ( Which horrified me )
I think that’s called agism. Funny how the bots who scream about “racism” have no problem with spouting their age discrimination!
dumdum – what a perfect name! Obama gets the same retirement package McCain gets…. so what’s your point? That package, by the way, is one that the Congress doesn’t think we lowly citizens deserve. “Squandering” is what our current system does – 2% intrest in Government Bonds when even the most conservative of investments in the private sector gets 5%. Yeah! Congresspeople, including MessiahObama get to CHOOSE their investments… but feel we are just to common and stupid to choose OURS!
I have never seen people make such jokes except on the internet where I don’t see many seniors congregating anyway, except to look in their email boxes and read chain letters that consist of lies slandering Obama. But I don’t think many seniors had planned to vote for Obama in the first place.
Let them keep it up. The older generation are a powerful voting force, and I suspect a lot of them will feel offended, blacks, and whites, and will link themselves with McCain, if they haven’t already, because the older Americans can relate to him, and they understand the Vietnam era, more than the green puppies who vote.
Come on now. They are for change. Like taking all of the OLD PEOPLES money and redistributing it to the non-working young, so they can enjoy life. Change like chasing all the OLD BUSINESSES out of the USA so they won’t have to work. Change like free housing, free food, free health care, and free poverty for everyone. And when no-one can afford a car anymore, or heat, or AC, they will have fixed the Man Made Global Warming problem too.

Most senior citizens are smart enough to know that Obama is a blowhard and would not make a good president. I would say that seniors would fall into a category of 90% not to vote for the snake oil salesman.

Obama supporters don’t really care who they hurt by the things they say. All they want is Obama elected by whatever means necessary.
My parents and grandparents are voting for Obama. They think McCain is too old to be president. They also think McCain has no handle on what it is like to be older and poor.
Let’s just say that these “senior citizens” haven’t missed a “word” whether by Obama or his supporters. There are many “silent majorities” in this country and seniors are one.
Baby boomers are the largest demographic group this nation has ever seen- are the jokes going to sway us? No- we were young once upon a time and told “old fart” jokes as well.
I already support McCain but these kids offend me deeply…and they will get this nasty attitude back if they are lucky enough to live past 40…they think 50 is ready for government assisted euthanasia…
The AARP should take note, Obama doesn’t care about the feelings of older Americans. And neither do his supporters.
My Aunt is 81, she is an Obama supporter. She thinks the jokes about McCain are funny, and true.
Thdey are probably helping him unfortunately. There are better campaign issues against him

As an Obama supporter and an advocate for the elderly, I have to say, it’s definitely not helping. There is so much that can be said about McCain,his fits of temper, lack of knowledge on foreign policy and the economy, that it seems to me resorting to ageism and crude slams of that sort just shows laziness and ignorance on the part of some people and an unwillingness to defend their candidate on real issues.
They’re voting for Obama because they don’t want Social Security to be privatized and squandered. You know, the “handouts” that McCain is receiving (Social Security)! Anyone saying seniors are “stupid” and “mismanaged their finances” to have to rely of “freebies” (all said by McCain supporters here) are the ones truly disrespecting senior citizens.
Probably they grin and bear it. The same people who lived by rules of thrift and prudence their whole lives have turned into greedy geezers in their old age. They won’t vote republican, even though Bush got them their free meds. When you want to cash in on greedy government, they know there’s ONE party to go with – the Botocrats.
