Retirement Of School Secretary Humour / Poem / Quotation / Joke?

Filed in Category Retirement Jokes

Our school secretary who has been at the reins for 25 years is retiring in 2 weeks and we’re having a party. I was wanting to put a little funny poem / quote / joke etc or something inside the card we’re all going to sign but can’t find anything specific enough anywhere!

    Compairing retirement to a car
    If your body was a car, this is the time you might be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. You’ve got bumps and dents and scratches in your finish and your paint job is getting a little dull … But that’s not the worst of it…….
    Your headlights are out of focus and it’s especially hard to see things up close…….
    Your traction is not as graceful as it once was. You slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather……
    Your whitewalls are stained with varicose veins…..
    It takes hours to reach your maximum speed.
    Your fuel rate burns inefficiently……
    But here’s the worst of it:
    Almost every time you sneeze, cough or sputter: either your radiator may leak or your exhaust backfires
    lol =]

    There is another joke that has been submitted further down the list, not sure of the correct title. Its something about my favourite things, its a joke sung to the Sound of Music My Favourite Things. Have a look at it and see if its too long to put on the card. I just thought it was a comical joke but perhaps a tad too long for the card.
    Enjoy your party.

    Something along the lines of “with love from all of your children” may generate a smile.
