If you went to marine boot why are you asking so many questions about the army and navy? And why don’t you know what a POG is?
You need to fill out an ID 10 Tango form! It’s time to grow up and start acting like an adult….
If it was a joke maybe you were sleeping.
It is not a joke, and even though I was not stressed physically it was a big mental stress, which is the game they play.
Most of the guys in my platoon were physically stressed, and ITR was worse, because of lack of sleep.
So why don’t you go to Marine boot and see how much of a joke you think it really is?
I know I’m gonna’ get virtually raped for this, but not everyone sat on their couches up until joining the a service. I’ve played football for 11 years – 1 b-squad, 1 a-squad, 1 jv, 1 v, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and a year in college. My friend who played computer games up until joining the Air Force (He was overweight and hadn’t ran a day since gym class) said it wasn’t that bad, and I’m sure it is doable. If the instructors verbally abuse you and you think that was tough then you’re a carebear. It’s called tough love and every coach will implement it. I’d prefer a coach that would tackle his own players in disgust then to some *** who barely yells. Sleep deprivation? You had four hours of sleep. WTF is wrong? You didn’t get the 6-8 you’re use to? Cry about it.
Not everyone is a carebear before joining. Just you (not OP).
if it was a joke.. you can thank your liberal mothers of America… but if you thought it was a joke… try lookin into the Air Force boot camp.. I hear Air Force boot camp you run on treadmills for pt. Out of all the service.. the Marines is the hardest.. however, thanks the mothers of America, Drill instructors cannot Bi@tch slap the **** out of recruits like this guy posting the question.. or at least without being investigated.. believe it or not.. alright.. alright… I realize that must have been a rumor about the treadmills.. my bad.. ( to add.. i respect the heck out of all branches of military.. you guys do a great job.. all branches. thank you…)
If it was a joke, then you didn’t give yourself a challenge. You didn’t give the DI 100% of yourself! It was a joke because you skated, you did the bare minium. You didn’t try to get 50 pull ups, you didn’t try to run 3 miles in 17 mins, you didn’t try to do 200 crunches in 2 mins.
You did enough in bootcamp to graduate, you didn’t push yourself. I hope your proud of yourself.
A lot of people have this perception that the ideal recruit is 18 years old, fresh out of highschool with little work experience beyond stocking grocery shelves, and prepares himself for military service by merely running and doing the odd set of pushups every now and then.
Of course, anyone who’s a bit more mature, older, experienced with work, better educated and trained using technical fitness programs is going to have an easier time of things.
I’m not sure of the USMC regulations on footwear, but if you have a problem with malfunctioning uniform articles, I’m sure your supply sergeant can put you in contact with the right people.
Hope this helped.
I agree with the first poster. Get a life and quit bashing the military. It is not a joke, neither is any boot camp, so I am calling you out on actually going to it.
If you were truly a Marine you would’ve capitalized the word “Marine” and you’d have some pride in yourself and your service.
Stop posing.
EDIT** And no, we do not run on treadmills for PT in the Air Force.
Really?? How was it a joke, give us some examples? What btln where you in? which boot was it? when did you grad?
I didnt think Army basic was so hard, and that was 1969.
But not everyone is physically gifted. Left, left, left right….
Why are you claiming to be something you so obviously are not?
Every Marine that I’ve met and seen says that Recruit Training changed them. Not one of them said it was a joke
Because you were dreaming about it in your parents basement.
I hear the Air Force doesn’t run on treadmills in Basic Training and has the smartest people of any branch.
Perhaps you are the Joke.
Three words. Man Bear Pig.
